How We Diagnose a Weak AC System

We start by checking refrigerant pressure on both the high and low side.

That single reading tells us a lot about whether we're dealing with a leak, a failing compressor, or a blocked line.

If the charge is low, we run a leak check rather than just topping it off.

A system that's low once will be low again within weeks if the leak never gets found.

If the charge is fine, we move on to the compressor clutch, the blower motor, and the condenser airflow path.

We check each in turn until we isolate the failure.
